We have just begun compiling our list of essential, useful, and favorite
sites dedicated to helping us help the youth and families in our
communities. If you have a site that helps you help your clients,
pleases forward it to us. We welcome help in compiling a useful,
"Youth Today is the only independent, national newspaper
geared to people who work with young people."
The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) "provides
programs that help protect all Texans from illness, prevent the spread of
disease, provide direct health services and promote emergency preparedness."
Texas Network of Youth Services is "...an organization of
60 nonprofit youth service agencies and private individuals who share the
common goal of creating better options and improving available services for
youth and families in crisis."
Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club International, the Key Club is a school based
organization that accepts the responsibility for an active program of
service for the school and community.
This site is maintained by the National Crime Prevention Council and
features its well-known McGruff the Crime Dog. Articles include "10
things you can do," "10 things your community can do," and special sections
reflecting positive attitudes toward teens and kids and what they can do to
